TEAM BEAUTY BANKS
WE ARE IMPATIENT ACTIVISTS WHO ARE RESTLESS AND OPTIMISTIC FOR CHANGE
IN OUR LIFETIME HYGIENE POVERTY WILL BE SOLVED AND EVERYTHING WE DO IS ABOUT MAKING THIS HAPPEN.
In January 2018, friends Sali and Jo started a social movement powered by the belief that being clean is a human right. It is also fundamental to our physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing.
Appalled by the term 'hygiene poverty' they decided to take action leveraging their connections in the Beauty Industry. The model is simple - take from the haves and re-distribute to the have nots.
Beauty Banks has vastly expanded its reach since inception in 2018, working with a UK-wide network of like minded people striving to eliminate hygiene poverty - from those within the beauty industry to our treasured beauty bankers, who collect donations on our behalf to benefit their local community. Monetary donations allow us to purchase essential toiletries and pay for their distribution to those who are most in need.
Nonetheless, we remain small but mighty with low overheads and a tiny full-time team supported by our wonderful volunteers.
The co-founders draw no salary or funds from the charity.

MEET OUR BRILLIANT BOARD OF TRUSTEES
"We were furious and frustrated when we learned about hygiene poverty, so we decided to do something about it. Both Sali and I work in the beauty industry and know there is a lot of waste and, most importantly, a tremendous amount of generosity and kindness. So we leverage our connections, influence and skills - me as the PR person and Sali as the journalist and influencer - to power Beauty Banks. We work with incredible brands from high street to high end, from legacy brands to indie brands to support those in the UK who can't afford to be clean".
